About Kevin

Bustling street scene in Kampala with matatus and street vendors, capturing the entrepreneurial spirit of urban Africa

Born in Uganda and forged in the crucible of both African entrepreneurship and Silicon Valley innovation, Kevin has journeyed from selling airtime on Kampala streets to building products at tech giants Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Google.

After earning degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Rochester, Kevin pursued multiple startup ventures as an e5 scholar, before ultimately joining an AI startup. A year later, Kevin began to grow restless about having a greater impact back home, and so began his exploration of ways he can leverage his network and expertise to start a venture of some sort back in his homeland.

Today, Kevin is channeling his experience and global network into building the Douglass Leadership Academy—pioneering a model that leverages educational arbitrage to transform opportunities for students across continents. This innovative approach connects American and prestigious African institutions, empowering students from underserved communities with world-class education.

Kevin's mission remains singular: to end absolute poverty in sub-Saharan Africa through creative capitalism. He's building economic infrastructure that connects the best of American innovation with Africa's rich heritage and untapped potential—focusing on labor-intensive growth strategies, infrastructure development, and sustainable financial models.

Through his writing and speaking engagements, Kevin shares insights on educational arbitrage, private sector-led growth, and his blueprint for Africa's technological renaissance. Each initiative serves as a bridge between continents and a step toward shared prosperity.

"The future belongs to those who can build across borders. Africa's greatest resource isn't its minerals—it's its people and their untapped potential."
